Simple Smokey Eye

Hi! :)

This is my first try at a review/trial entry. I really hope I do good. :)

Anyway, earlier today, I got inspired to do a simple smokey eye for a 2 reasons. The first one, doing a smokey eye is a basic make-up look. You can carry it off for a formal party, to clubbing, even to a wedding. I have seen various tutorials on youtube on different types of smokey eyes but a photo I found on pinterest really inspired me to do it. Here's my reason number 2:

So here goes my 1st trial ever documented!
(I used my phone's cam so, the resolution isn't that good. The colors weren't captured very well.)

For the look, here are my steps:

  • Do your base routine: Put on moisturizer, I used Mary Kay's Tinted Moisturizer in Beige 1. After that, put on primer, I used Mary Kay's Foundation Primer. Then using a powder brush, I put on my powder foundation, Fanny Serrano Two-Way Cake in Chino.
  • Do your Eyes: I first placed primer on both my eye lids (Sally Hansen's Primer in Beige). Next, I used a beige eye shadow from E.L.F's Everyday Eye Palette and placed in on my middle eye lid. Next, I chose a grey eyeshadow from the same palette and applied it on my outer eye lid. Then, from Mac's 20-color palette (sorry I forgot the palette name) I used a glittery grey eyeshadow and applied it on my outer crease and blended it outward up to my above crease. Next, I applied the Pearl liquid eyeshadow on my brow bone to highlight my brows.
  • Accentuate your Eyes: I used SanSan's Liquid Eyeliner in Black near on my upper lash line to make my eyes look bigger and made a subtle cat eye. Next, I used the same glittery grey eyeshadow on my lower lash line and outer lower lash line. Then I used a silver grey eye shadow from Mac's 20 color palette on my inner lower lash line and tear ducts. On my eye lashes, I used E.L.F's Mineral Mascara in Black to elongate my top and lower lashes.
  • Contour: I used Peach from E.L.F's compact make-up kit to contour my cheekbones. Next, I used Allue's shimmer powder as a translucent powder to hightlight my eyes.
  • Lips: I used Jane's 07 Pinks lip palette specifically Cotton Candy and topped it off with Mary Kay's Nurishine Lip gloss in Cream & Sugar for a glossy effect.
Here is the compilation of the finished look.

I hope I pulled it off nicely! :)
